Why Is SRI Your Perfect Fit? – Q&A With SRI Employees

SRI Shoe Warehouse is on a mission to provide all women with shoes that give them the look they want and the feel they deserve. We provide options and styles that make sure you can find The Perfect Fit when you visit our Raleigh, North Carolina, warehouse.

SRI is always evolving in order to provide you with the products you love to fit your lifestyle. We couldn’t do it without our loyal, hardworking employees. We feel lucky to have so many long-term employees who have helped SRI grow from a business idea into a family.

We interviewed two SRI Shoe Warehouse employees who are integral to the day-to-day operations of our physical and digital stores. Read their answers to our questions below to find out why SRI has been The Perfect Fit for these two employees as a place to build their careers.

Why SRI? Q&A With Two Veteran SRI Employees

We spoke with Sandy, who has been with SRI for 18 years, and Astrid, who has been with the company for over 25 years, to find out what makes our shoe store special to them and to the community.  

Both women currently work as Buyers for SRI shoes and other products.

Q: What are the biggest or best changes you have seen happen at SRI since you started?


Sandy: “The biggest and the best changes that I have seen are the addition of the ‘Boutique’ (apparel), the implementation of our e-commerce system, and our flexible 60-day return policy for online orders.”

Astrid: “One of the biggest changes for me was when we began selling clothes online.”

Q: How/why has SRI been the “Perfect Fit” for you as a place to build a career?


Sandy: “I have been treated like family at SRI. We all agree that loyalty and hard work matters, but we maintain a flexible work environment with caring employers and a fun staff. SRI has helped me become a better buyer and merchandiser.

I enjoy working with customers and not being stuck in an office crunching numbers. I have established many long-term customers and developed great friendships both professionally and personally.”

Astrid: “Stuart Rosenberg (a founder of SRI) saw something in me the first time we met. I was working for a competitor, but he hired me, believed in me, and had a hand in making me into a great manager and person.”

Q: Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? Why are they your favorite?


Sandy: “I have many favorite pairs, so I’ll have to break them down by category.

Jessica Simpson — black strappy wedge sandal, so sassy but very comfortable, and I can dress them up or dress them down.

Not Rated — Ivory suede knee boots, every time I wear them I get stopped and asked where I got them.

BCBG — pumps in black and navy, sensible heel and timeless style.

New Balance — 1080v7, so comfortable it’s like running on clouds.

This was a tough question because I have so many to choose from in my closet!”

Astrid: “I own so many pairs, but I love all my Jessica Simpson and Nine West shoes.”

Q: In your opinion, how does SRI make shopping for the perfect pair of shoes easier?


Sandy: “The selection, price points, and employee product knowledge about brands makes shopping at SRI easy. Plus, check-out is quick, with little to no waiting in long lines.”

Astrid: “We usually have what you’re looking for — and we have it at a great price.”

Q: Describe how a customer’s shopping experience at SRI Shoe Warehouse might go.


Sandy: “When you enter the store, you will be warmly welcomed with eye contact and smiles. The staff is available to help or direct you towards what brought you into the store. We’ll answer any questions you have about product, fit, etc. The employees at SRI are very conscious of your time.”

Astrid: “You’ll be warmly greeted, asked how we can help you, and assisted in picking out the perfect pair (or pairs) of shoes!”

Q: Anything else you think is important for customers to know about SRI?


Sandy: “In addition to the things customers already know about SRI, what they might not know is: we give back to the community by helping. SRI donates gently worn shoes [to those in need] through Soles4Souls every year. SRI also has many long-term employees — many for over 10 years, some for longer.”

Astrid: “SRI is big enough to find great deals for our customers, but small enough to help you personally every time you visit us!”
